What is the BOLFOR II Comunicateca? |

The BOLFOR II Comunicateca is a physical and virtual space where full and diverse information can be found through communication materials - on the environment, sustainable forest management, biodiversity and other areas - prepared in support of development programs in Latin America.
Besides, it is a space for reflection, where the public can attend exhibitions or the presentation of results of experiences in, for example, forestation, environment, biodiversity, development and others.
It is a space to share communication materials - on environmental issues in general, and forestry in particular - prepared by different institutions with the community.

What is the use of the BOLFOR II Comunicateca? |
|
The available material on the environment and sustainable forest management, among other topics, plays a fundamental role in ensuring success of development programs and is valuable even upon conclusion of the projects for which it was prepared. In some cases, the material prepared for a certain project can be used in another project subject to minor changes only. This is not only money and time saving, but also an opportunity to learn from prior experiences.
This way, besides preventing people from "reinventing the powder", it is possible, for example:
. to design presentations and publications based on existing databases and illustrations
. to find references to other topics, or bibliographical material on a certain topic
. to know what material has been prepared on a certain topic and to study, evaluate or improve it
. to find up-to-date information on specific topics
. to know what is being done in other Latin American countries on the same topic. |

What are the origins of the BOLFOR II Comunicateca?

The Comunicateca of the Center for Communication Programs is a project created from the need to coordinate experiences, optimize resources and avoid the duplication of efforts in the field of communication and development.
The BOLFOR II Comunicateca is an extension of this project to satisfy the need for gathering, systematizing and ensuring access to material on forestry issues. |
